It has been quite the day. An early morning drive to Hazard for the KY Council on Archives Spring meeting and a speedy drive back to catch Gallery Hop. I started at Christ Church’s Art at the Cathedral. Yours truly has nine pieces in one of the most beautifully curated shows I’ve been part of. It’s called Kentucky Roots III and hangs until July 3. Jennifer Stanley (a totally awesome person) was the curator and one of the artists. I can’t say enough about her skill in putting the show together, and her paintings are gorgeous. As a bonus, I popped around the corner to ArtsPlace where Johnny Farris has work hanging in their show Lex Get Haapi! Art Exhibit “a showcase of the diversity, creativity, and talent of artists from the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in the Lexington area.” His work was beautiful, of course, and he was beaming with pride, and rightfully so. It was a pretty cool evening for a couple of UK Fine Art Alums.
