“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.” ~ Angela Davis

classmates

I’m standing at the Freezer Fresh Saturday when I hear, “Kopana?” There stood my old childhood friend and classmate Faye Conley with a smile as broad as it ever was. We graduated from high school 40 years ago, earlier this year on May 8. I don’t think I’ve seen Faye since then. She went off and joined the Air Force, made a career of it, retired, and still works for them as a civilian near Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. I went off and did everything else. It was decoration day in the homeland, and there we were, after honoring our ancestors, getting the requisite milkshakes from The Freezer Fresh. Mission accomplished. We are wild, we are free, we’re the class of 83.
