“We don’t need more to be thankful for. We just need to be more thankful.” ~ Unknown

My main man AJ cracks me up with the faces he makes, but he’s awfully generous to my camera with his smiles.  One of my favorite memories of AJ was when he portrayed Elvis one holiday. He might have been 7 or 8, and he loved to sing. We were at our grandparent’s house up Railroad Fork, and he came into the dining room dressed as Elvis. I don’t remember what he sang, it might have been You Ain’t Nothing But A Hounddog. He had all the moves, knew the lyrics, carried the tune, and was just about the most adorable thing I’d ever seen. I loved him before, but he was the kid I never had after that performance. I’m so glad he picked cousin Renee to be his mom so I could have him in my life. The night dad died, he and some of the family who had been there earlier in the day came back and stayed with us until the funeral home arrived. It was a great comfort to have him there. He’s a keeper.
