“The truth you believe and cling to makes you unavailable to hear anything new.” ~ Pema Chödron

golden hour

To quote Supertramp, “I take the long way home.” I take the long way to work, too. That line’s not in the song, though. Anyway, I drive around Commonwealth Stadium, which is known today as Kroger Field. I love the longer drive because there’s less traffic, fewer people, and much better scenery. Along Alumni Drive, which takes up a good portion of the drive, they built a nice runoff drainage area that is gorgeous in spring and summer when the flowers bloom. Plus, it does a great job of filtering the runoff. Alumni Drive also has two fabulous roundabouts, of which I am a big fan. They actually do traffic/speed control so much more efficiently than red lights and stop signs. The evening light is almost always beautiful, and with little decorator clouds near the golden hour, all the better. One of these days, I’ll have my big camera with me and time to stop and explore the light on the stadium.
