The staircase in the original section of the old Watkins Farm house leads from a single ground floor room to the second story, which is also a single room. That is the original part of the house: a single pen (room) two story. The steps have been painted making it hard to know what kind of wood they’re made from. If the original portion of the house is – thus far – estimated at 1850-ish, it’s hard to say if the stairs are equally as old. Maybe they are.
