“You gotta keep going to keep growing.” ~ Unknown

in the sun

I’m telling you this house has more character than Carter’s Little Liver Pills. That cultural blast from the past matches the wallpaper and gives my age away. Speaking of age, in class earlier this week my classmates got into a discussion about Millenials, Gen X, Boomers, Gen Z, and whatever label they throw on the next generation. As they were comparing ages, what years they were born, and so forth, I sat quietly as it dawned on me that I had lived several lives by the time I was their ages. My young years were fast paced, ever changing, always exciting and full of adventure. I giggled to myself sitting there in silence. They never asked what generation I was, by the way. They probably thought the labels didn’t go back to the time of Methuselah. I did a little snooping on the interwebs and there are generational labels I’ve never heard of. This unusual article even breaks up the boomers into two generations, Boomers I aka Baby Boomers, and Boomers II or Generation Jones. Really? Generation Jones? What does that even mean? And the earliest boomers are brokeen out even further and called the “Post-War Cohort.” Bottom line is, these kids I’m in class with, I might be old enough to be their mother – and they would have been late life babies at that – but we all agreed that labels are ridiculous. That said, I guarantee they don’t know what Carter’s Little Liver Pills were and I doubt there’s much comfort for them in 1960’s wallpaper. I just keep giggling.
