practice in the shade

When the marching band’s nearby practice field still existed, I loved hearing them practice in the late afternoons. It became part of the fall feeling. That stopped when they built the new student center and parking lot in the practice field’s place. A few years ago, the kids playing Bluegrass in the music department started practicing outside the library. They became the new sound of fall. I am totally on board with that. I kinda hated to leave work today because of it. They were playing some pretty good tunes.
