“My country is the world, and my religion is to do good.” ~ Thomas Paine

I looked around the classroom this evening at the handful of young writers, each so intent on telling their stories in the most eloquent, fluid voice they can muster. They’re all searching for the right words; the right way; looking for themselves in between their lines. Writing is not a competition, at least not to me. So when it stopped feeling like one, most noticeably tonight, then I started enjoying the class. I’m not sure what changed, but I sure appreciate that it did. Maybe I’m the one that changed. Whatever the case, I enjoyed tonight’s class, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know my classmates. No two are alike.
