Today counts. Big or small, in some way, today counts.” ~ Vicki Caroline Cheatwood

these are a few of my favorite things (snapseed)

These things were given to me by people I love. Sage sticks, a small vessel by a skilled Ute potter, an ornamental Thai pipe: there are many important objects including the photos. At top is Mamaw and me on her front porch. I was 16. It was taken by my close friend, Greg Daniel, before we went running the hills around his family home up Williams Creek. It was the best summer of my life. Below on the left is Mark Collinsworth. I was 12, he was 10, and we were on our way to his little league game. On the right is my uncle Ralph Paul. I’m told that he insisted I be awakened from my nap so he could see me. I was 2. He was 19. He stayed with us a lot, and felt like a brother. He was killed in Vietnam. I turned 4 just the day before. These are a few of my favorite things. What are yours?
