“Have you heard about glimmers? They’re the opposite of triggers. A glimmer is a tiny micro-moment of happiness, a sign of hope. Once you begin to look for them, they will start to appear everywhere.” ~ Unknown

missing windows

Back in 2016, I posted about this incredible old store at the foot of Eldon Hill. It’s called Hitchcock Place or Hitchcock Store, and it was built in 1913. In 2016, there was speculation the building would be torn down to make room for highway improvement. Fortunately, the highway moved further from it, leaving the building intact. However, the photos from 2016 show the building still had windows that, today, have been boarded up. But I had a bit more time to look around the place and discovered that it’s a two-story building with a basement entrance in the back. This store was the hub of the small railroad community back in its day. I’d love to see it resurrected into something as grand as its history deserves. Here’s hoping someone takes good care of her for another 110 years.
