Though I have rested, as today’s quote suggests, I haven’t been laying in the grass to do it because it’s Oklahoma and… well, ticks. Doesn’t help it’s been near 100 all week, either. So what do people do when it gets this hot? In Oklahoma, they either go to the creek or the casino. Creeks aren’t ADA-accessible, unfortunately. I don’t do casinos, but Angie told me for months that she’d take me and teach me the ropes. To my complete happiness, Barb Plested, Pam Thurman, Scott Eastman, Ken Bailey, and Marsha Hayes (looking her very best in the bottom photo with Angie and Ken) met us at the Cherokee Casino in Siloam Springs for hours of entertainment. Pam Thurman has got some serious gaming juju, and I watched her closely. I know much more about casinos than I did this morning, but spending time with my people was the best part.
