The Boyd County Lions fell to Trinity in this year’s high school state baseball championship. It was a difficult game against a seemingly invincible opponent who couldn’t seem to put a foot wrong, while our guys couldn’t catch a break. Four Boyd County pitchers later, the game ended in mercy after the fifth inning, 12-0 score. We were disappointed for the guys, and they were all disappointed to say the least, but it was still an amazing season with a none-too-shabby end result as the state runner-up. That alone is worthy of praise, although it doesn’t feel like it at the time. It was wonderful to have many family members in attendance to cheer them on, and we always have a good time together, even when we come up a little short. I’m mighty proud of the Boyd County Lions, and I’m looking forward to next season already.
