“Forgive yourself for not knowing earlier what only time could teach. Because the truth is we can only understand certain things after we grow, after we go through life, and after time quietly teaches us what we once didn’t know.” ~ Unknown

I was back at the Chandler Medical Center for a test yesterday. It was a good test. The ‘ol ticker is ticking, and I get to enjoy retirement even more. Meanwhile, my buddy Fred Sexton, twang guitarist extraordinare, whose day job is carpentry, nearly cut two of his left-hand fingers off with a table saw just 24 hours before. Today, we had a good talk about it and decided to get the band back together when he heals because now we’re on a mission from God (IYKYK). Seriously, he’s lucky because miraculously, he didn’t sever his tendons or ligaments, so his 50 years of guitar playing aren’t over. I think that deserves at least one afternoon of tunes in Jeff’s basement like the old days, eh? I’m grateful to many doctors who have helped me and my buddy Fred make it this far in life, and continue to help us play into the future. No saws for this old gal, though, and no more saws for Fred either. I told him so, and Mama ain’t backing down on this one.
