“The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.” ~ Henri Nouwen

end of semester

At the end of each spring semester, the HP faculty have a little get-together at KY Native Cafe. I’ve never had time to go, but I made it a point to go today, and it was a nice segue between work and the hospital. It was a perfect day to be outside, too. We missed prof. Emily Bergeron and graduate Elizabeth Kostrub, but everyone else was there, and I’m pretty sure a good time was had by all. I had to leave a little early but was grateful to see everyone, however short the time. I value the friendship, expertise, and collegiality of every one of these fine folk. As for Shero, she seems to be feeling better today. She required no oxygen overnight, and her vitals were back to normal. We’re cautiously optimistic that she’ll get to come home for the weekend.
