“Happiness is a choice. Happiness is a habit. And happiness is something you have to work hard at. It does not just happen.” ~ Leslie Jordan

Broadway

This is broadway and 3rd in DTLA. On the right is the Grand Central Market, and on the left is the Bradbury Building. It’s too bad I didn’t get to go inside the Bradbury Building, as it is architecturally unique. Built in 1893, the Bradbury is a five-story sort of ordinary exterior building, but the inside is a courtyard surrounded by iron stairs, and marble tile, all under a beautiful skylight. Grand Central Market is about as cool as cool can be, loaded with produce and hot food of all kinds – from Thai to pizza to burgers and smoothies – plus a killer candy stand and actual fresh produce. It was built in 1917 and is “the region’s first steel-reinforced, fireproof structure.” If you go to DTLA, after an overpriced cocktail at Clifton’s, you need to check out the Market and see if you can get inside the Bradbury. If you do, send pictures.
