Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna. Larry Adams introduced me to the colors in Freshman art class. Many trees this fall season display burnt umber and burnt sienna, and even though they may appear dull against the vibrant yellow and red trees, they are, in fact, not dull at all but beautiful in their own burnt way. Without them, yellow and red would look like a fairy tale with no prince. I’m a fan of the sycamore tree anyway, so when their leaves glow burnt umber and sienna, the world glows around them. I love fall. Can you tell?
