“Always leave room in your soul for love, laughter, and a dash of weirdness.” ~ Unknown
Meet my dear, dear friend Sharon Shearman. We met in 1998 when I worked my first Keeneland sale for Maggie Jacobs. Sharon was an exchange student from New Zealand also working for Maggie. We three became fast friends, and we have remained friends ever since. The Outhouse didn’t exist last time Sharon was in the states, so I’m mighty proud she let me photograph her today after she landed in the Bluegrass. She knew full well she’d end up here, of course. Sharon is absolutely hilarious. We have had so much fun together, and every time I see her she reminds me of some funny thing we did or said that I’d forgotten. She’s also got an incredible work ethic. This woman is old school when it comes to working: a git-‘er-done kind of gal, no excuses. She’s also old school in the courtesy and kindness departments. All traits I value in a person. She’s one of the best friends a person could have, and I’m privileged to have her in my life. If you ever get a chance to meet Sharon, I guarantee you will love her as much as I do.
